Condition: Age Spots
The term "age spots" is somewhat of a catch-all. As we age, we begin to show signs of aging with dark spots, light spots, bumps, tags, and crusty and other abnormal skin lesions. Still, the primary categories are usually related to either pigment changes to our skin or growths on our skin.
Most of the pigment skin changes occur as a result of oxidation that occurs early in life. Melanocytes, which provide our coloring, are the sites where pigment is produced.
